AIMS

FATIMA Women's Network aims to represent women's issues at a local and national level, with a view to bring about positive change in the lives of women, and in particular women from BME and diverse communities through consultation, representation and advocacy in local and national policy and all levels of service delivery.

OBJECTIVES

To provide regional and national support for women through an online network which will:

• Ensure the provision of dynamic initiatives through personal development, education, training and employment opportunities for women of all backgrounds, in particular, those from the excluded communities; in order to encourage their integration into mainstream society and employment or self-employment, in public, private or social enterprise.
• Promote participation in cross-community relations and activities in order to encourage inter-racial and inter-faith harmony and cohesion in the learning and working environments; and improve representation on strategic bodies and influence policies, priorities and outcomes for under represented and or BME communities.
• To represent issues identified by women through community consultation and research and:
• To encourage, undertake, collect, disseminate and promote research and better understanding on issues relating to the empowerment of women, particularly from the excluded or disadvantaged communities, whilst combating negative gender, ethnic, religious and faith stereotyping.

Provide a comprehensive assessment, aimed at identifying the individual needs of women within the community.
Provide personal mentoring and tutoring to enable representation within policy planning and service delivery.
Provide up to date information on issues that affect women.

How can FATIMA assist organisations and businesses?

Provide research-based advice and support on 'women' specific issues, in particular women from BME and diverse communities, on policy, planning and service delivery.
Provide consultation and representation on women's issue, in particular on BME and diverse community issues affecting service policy, planning and delivery
Provide research and consultation aimed at identifying gaps in service policy, planning and delivery.

Founder Director - Parvin Ali

A serial entrepreneur, Parvin advocates on women's enterprise at local, regional, national and international level including OECD and World Islamic Economic Forum. Founder Director of the FATIMA Women's Network, Board Member of East Midlands Regional Development Agency, Executive Board Member of Regional Assembly and Vice Chair of ESEP Group, Vice Chair of Voice - the Voluntary Sector Regional Black Partnership, and Member of Ethnic Business Women's Forum and several government advisory groups on diversity and gender.
